GuardWatch offers a community-based approach to safety by enabling neighbors to support one another. When a user activates the SOS function, all GuardWatch users within a 100-meter radius of the specified location receive an immediate distress alert. This system is designed for quick and efficient communication, requiring only a single tap to initiate an alert. By utilizing technology as a form of critical infrastructure, GuardWatch broadens the network of potential responders to include friends, family, and neighbors, thereby enhancing local security efforts. Users are required to register at least one emergency contact, who must also have the app installed to ensure a coordinated response in emergency situations.
